This is how we experienced the first day of the Clinical Immersion in Diabetes and Technology in Pediatrics—organized by MiniMed | Medtronic, in collaboration with the Santísima Trinidad Children’s Hospital and the Reina Fabiola University Clinic—which brought together professionals from various Latin American countries.
It was a day of training and exchange that highlighted the value of interdisciplinary work, featuring contributions from Dr. Paula Paz Povedano and professionals Eugenia Sequeira, Maria Macias, and Andrea Daghero, who addressed diabetes from the perspectives of psychology, social work, nutrition, and diabetes education.
Furthermore, the experience included a hands-on session in which participants could connect to an insulin pump and reflect—from an experiential perspective—on some of the challenges faced by people living with diabetes.
Learning also took place through a playful activity that allowed for the exploration of everyday situations and reflection on the role of technology in managing diabetes.
We are pleased to support initiatives like this. Thank you to MiniMed for trusting us as a strategic partner and for developing proposals that promote education, the exchange of experiences, and access to new tools for healthcare teams.
